Golden Globe, Oscar, and Grammy-winning artist. Voice of Dolores. Mother. Storyteller.
Adassa is a Golden Globe, Oscar, and Grammy-winning artist best known as the voice of Dolores Madrigal in Disney's Encanto and as a featured vocalist on the Billboard #1 hit "We Don't Talk About Bruno."
Born to Colombian immigrant parents with big dreams and little in their pockets, she learned early that making it as an artist was about grit, faith, and a whole lot of improvising. Together with her husband and music director Gabriel Candiani, Adassa paid her dues on stages in Texas and Mexico before landing her first solo record deal.
That deal led to collaborations with Lin-Manuel Miranda, Enrique Iglesias, Pitbull, Snoop Dogg, Flo Rida, Ciara, Missy Elliott, Luis Fonsi, Don Omar, Megan Thee Stallion, and Becky G. From the Rose Bowl to Madison Square Garden, she was living the dream.
Until COVID left her paralyzed from the neck down.
Unable to care for herself, let alone sing, Adassa faced her greatest challenge. In those darkest moments, Gabriel and their seven children became her strength. Their family clung to faith, laughter, and the unshakable belief that God was still directing their lives.
What followed was a resurrection — not just physical, but spiritual. And what emerged from that dark season was a woman, a musician, and a storyteller more fully herself than ever before.
Today Adassa performs at the Grammys, Oscars, American Music Awards, and American Idol. She regularly headlines Disney concerts worldwide and appears monthly at Comicons across the U.S., performing for thousands of Disney fans. She is a featured guest artist on the Mormon Tabernacle Choir's world tour (2024–2026).
Her brand partnership history includes Pepsi, McDonald's, Toyota, LEGO, and Secret. Her writing credits span the sync catalogs of Warner, Universal, and SONY.
She is a mother of seven. A Colombian-American woman with a four-octave vocal range. A homeschooling mom based in Nashville who loves to cook. And she refuses to be quiet.
In 2026, Adassa steps forward with the most personal project of her career: a memoir-music hybrid that redefines how stories are told and felt. Love Keeps Showing Up: Music, Messes & Miracles (Shadow Mountain Publishing, April 7, 2026) is accompanied by Drink It Up, a 12-track country album with QR codes embedded throughout the book linking directly to each song.
Her sound blends acoustic storytelling with 808s, rap cadences, and syncopated hooks — a fresh, beat-driven country rooted in spiritual and maternal depth. This is not a crossover. It is a redefinition.
